Here are the blogs into which I all-too-willingly sink my Copious Free Time.

80beatsscienceScience news in a terrifically digestible format, without bluster.
Joel on SoftwareITGreat explainer. I've been a junkie ever since reading his articles on the two competing forces at Microsoft (and this one too).
Paul Graham's essaysIT & designI've loved Graham's aesthetic ever since a dear friend loaned me Hackers & Painters.
Signal vs. NoiseIT & designChicago's own 37signals blogs on the beauty of simple design. Love it. Live it.
Sports GuysportsJeez, I hardly follow baseball any more, and I don't know the first thing about basketball, but Bill Simmons remains entertaining.
Wall of PaulcultureBeen a fan from his movie-criticism days (I think this is one of the best reviews I've ever read). And this is hilarious.

And the comix:

Questionable ContentDespite the title, it's a mostly-work-safe serial comic about twentysomethings. Sort of like a low-rent Friends episode, if the cast all listened to indie music. And lived five minutes in the future.
Savage Nobles in the Land of EnchantmentComic about a band's science-fictiony adventures on the road. Love the characters.
XKCDWant to understand the geek mindset? Read this! Or this.
