Just (re!)posted the latest edition of FileExporter--I think it's friendlier than previous versions. Documentation is here. One note: this one works best with Data Loader 17. (Later versions of Data Loader are crashier when exporting files; please let salesforce.com know you don't like this state of affairs.) Let me know what you think!
